Meditation Means “Being Alive”...

“Being alive” means feeling the life-energy moving across each cell of your body. As per my meditation gurus, you can perform meditation in just 1 minute too, whenever and wherever required. Say for instance, one can be instantly relieved off the kind of anxiety arising before an important business meeting or a stage performance by following the Pyramid technique. 

The prime thing is to “focus on breath”. That’s why, in general, it is suggested to anyone who is feeling anxiety, stress or nervousness to take a few deep breaths and exhale; and the difference can be felt there itself. I guess each one of us has done this, right? But the "Pyramid" version (practised by Lord Buddha)  is a bit more refined.

The Pyramid Valley Meditation Technique…

As per my meditation preachers, it is not even required to take deep breaths. The process can be carried out well enough by just focusing on the breath, which is as subtle as silk, and as light as a feather. 

Surveys reveal that majority of the people who performed this wonderful technique for a few minutes only felt relaxed, focused and confident. Gosh! When one can feel so excellent in just a few minutes, imagine the magnanimously flowing positivity that induces tranquillity when meditation is practised for longer time period.

[PS: This meditation technique will be helpful to you only if you firmly believe in it without an iota of doubt.]

The 4 Significant Factors…

#1. Breath – The Highly Revered Energy

You need to have the feeling of sheer reverence for your breath for it is the source of cosmic energy in your body and the very reason that you are alive. You do not have to think about any idol or anybody except your own freely-flowing breath. Just focus how it moves in and out of your body while your eyes closed. You do not have to take deep breaths.

In case you suffer from any physical illness or mental disturbance, then while focusing on your breath, re-iterate the positive thoughts - "you are cured; there is no more illness or disturbance; you are happy and at peace". Mind it, the focus should be intense and genuinely from your heart. Using this technique, you can also pray for the well being and recovery of your loved ones. Ensure you do not get defocused from your breath or open your eyes.

PS: Know that you are following correct way of breathing when your stomach bloats out while inhaling and sinks in while exhaling.

#2. Posture

It is recommended to pose in the most comfortable manner. Keep your hands conjoined such that they get interlocked and palms of both the hands touch each other. Keep your legs or feet crossed each time so that the cosmic energies entering your body remain there and do not flow out. You may choose to sit on floor, use a chair, stand or even lie down. That’s the beauty of this approach – it is not rigid.

#3. Atmosphere

You definitely need a quiet atmosphere for meditating. But even if you do not come across any, it is okay, it can still be done anywhere (great if you are not affected by the crowd) with your eyes closed and focus on breath.

#4. Time Period

The time period (in minutes) recommended to practice this meditation technique must be equivalent to your age. E.g. If you are 20 years of age, practice for 20 minutes each day. To gain high benefits, increase the practice sessions; practice for 2, 3 or even 4 times each day. You will experience remarkable change in yourself after a constant practice of 45 days. But choose to practice regularly even after that. Meditation is not a 1 day or 1 month affair, it has to be a life-long habit.

PS: Performing the Pyramid meditation technique while wearing a special Pyramid-shaped cap brings out the best results. These caps can be purchased from the Pyramid Valley meditation center situated in Bangalore, India. 

The Clouds of Thoughts…

So while you meditate, you experience zillions of thoughts traversing your mind… right? 

What do you do about the popping thoughts?

Well, you do not have to do anything about them. Just become a mute spectator and the thoughts will pass by like moving clouds. The problem arises when you try to suppress or stop your thoughts. Don’t do that, the simple reason being that your thoughts are as natural as your feelings. They may be good, bad, weird, calming, stupid, arousing anxiety, fear, stress or nervousness. Let them do their job. You do yours!

What happens when you start meditating?

While your eyes are closed with focus on the breath, and while the thoughts are passing by, they may make you laugh, smile, cry, angry or agonised. You may feel your body is getting heated up and may experience an increased heart beat. Though it is recommended not to open your eyes but you may open for a short while, come back to your normal position if you feel uneasy and then resume to your practice.

Powerful Cosmic Energies Enter Your Body...

The heat that is produced in your body is simply due to the powerful cosmic energies that penetrate into your physical ecosystem. This is what suffices for the name of this meditation technique, i.e. “Pyramid”, a Greek word formed with two fragments “Pyra” meaning heat or fire, and “mid” meaning in the middle. Hence while you perform meditation in the middle of heat, you get more close to the higher consciousness.

Thoughts Reflect You…

It is inferred that your thoughts are the breeding of your basic instinct, your feelings and emotions. But the point of concern is that being the non quantum representation of your physical being, they highly influence you. Hence in order to maintain a healthy cerebral functioning, it is important that you take good care of your thoughts.

Filter Your Thoughts…

The strategy is that while observing all your thoughts, you need to decide which thought actually needs to become a part of your intellect and which one needs to be abolished.

How to know which thought to be abolished?

Though it is easy to know but not so simple to implement. The law of nature has blessed humans with the power of sensitivity. Through this sensitivity, you will automatically come to know about the benevolent thoughts. Your heart will give you signals about the disturbing and malicious thoughts that make you uneasy and hence need to be discarded.

Surround Yourself with Positive Thoughts and Positive People…

Positive thoughts lead to positive acts which eventually lead to good deeds and become your habits which stay with you forever. In today’s world where love is taken for lust; religion is taken for harming humanity; relationships are taken for granted and lack faith; “meditation” is a blessing that comes as a rescuer imbibing strength into your psyche to combat the negativity and stand against those transmitting hatred, jealousy and deception.

The Power of Self Control...


With this post, I wish to share my experience of “Self Control”and knowledge about "Meditation". It's not the first time that I am doing this but it's the first time indeed that I am posting about it! :)


The Power of Self Control

It’s been almost a week and I haven’t checked my “Facebook”...  Seriously guys... no kidding here! The social networking site that I am damn crazy for; that I keep hopping on each hour of the day; that makes me really happy by watching my friends’ pictures which I love to “like” and comment upon; the site which offers pure fun and knowledge too; the best of all is that Facebook is one hot trending site that keeps me and everybody else well connected with their loved ones!

Yes... I know it all, and still I chose to stay away from something that I admire the most! Want to know the reason WHY??? Because I felt that I am getting literally addicted to it and wanted a momentary hiatus. Hence I decided to combat this addiction with the powerful techniques of meditation.  

No offence to the avid Facebook users. We all love social networking because it is magical and it is here to stay forever. My reality check was just an attempt to prove myself that I am not a slave to technology.

With no praises, I would like to share that my age old practice did help in realizing the fact – “Yes I can do Self-Control”. Gratefully, I have emerged as a winner in this reality check by successfully implementing the amazing technique. And now, I would soon be back again accessing my favourite Facebook... :)

Self Control...

Believe me, self control is the key to peace. It means that you willingly pull yourself away from something, eventually leading to self contentment with no feelings of regret or uneasiness. It is great to know your hidden potential that you can survive without a particular thing without bothering much. But self control does not mean that you are forcibly directing your emotions. It has to be natural. Only then will the feeling of comfort sink in your senses enabling you monitor yourself better.

Meditation Teaches Self Control and Helps Over Come Adversities...

Too often you get arrested in the muddle of adverse instances in life. I comprehend them to be categorized as per the severity with which they affect our psyche. From low level severity (affecting for a short while) to mid level severity (affecting for a substantial time period) to high level severity (affecting for life time and may be extremely detrimental); these instances cause serious imbalance among our mind, body and spirit.

What do you do to handle such creepy instances?

Meditation is the Answer…

In recent time, my life took a twist with some noteworthy events etching a plethora of emotions over my psyche, making me contemplate day and night. After all it's not that easy to stay away from your loved ones, whom you used to meet very often! It's not easy being far away when your loved ones are suffering from illness! Don't want to dig out more details here... By God’s grace I know this beautiful art else it would have been difficult to face the odd times. 

Observations by experts reveal that the adversities never bring pain, it is your reaction towards them that makes you feel miser. Through meditation, you can very well tame your unshackled reactions escaping all the pain and misery. Isn’t it wonderful!

You will find innumerable definitions and techniques for performing “meditation” on web. You may follow any one and proceed towards the path of awakening your higher consciousness. With strong recommendation to follow any, I am humbled to share my derivatives of the complex concept which I learnt at the Pyramid Valley Meditation Center.

[PS: Based on the “Giza Pyramid” principles, the structure of Pyramid Valley is the world’s largest pyramid, solely constructed for performing intensive meditation. Karva Chauth - Festival of Love and Faith...

Hello fellas, it’s been long that I’ve posted. The reason that kept me occupied was my recent move to Stockholm, Sweden with my hubby. Finding a house was a bit struggling but now that I am tuned to the daily dose of routine, it will be great to post about all the newness!

With this post, I wish to share my knowledge, belief and experience this year about Karva Chauth. :)

The history of this age old Hindu ritual when a married woman keeps fast for the longevity and well being of her beloved husband, derives its essence from the Mythological era. Celebrated as a major festival by married Indian women across the globe, the tradition engulfs this one day special occasion with its aura of love and faith, and is known as “Karva Chauth” a.k.a. KC as per the urban trends!

Being an Indian and married from past 5 years, I have been excitedly dipping my senses in the colour of KC. But each year, by the time dusk wraps up this fancy drill, I am always left with one thought to ponder upon... Does remaining hungry for almost 16 hours in a day really escape our spouse from illness and increase the age?

Anyway, since counter-questioning the credibility of the not-so-logical trend will not lead to any substantial matter; hence I think I choose to believe the fact that this festival embarks on the quintessential element of “love” we women behold for our men. We love our men so much that we could forego anything for them, food being one of those “anythings”... :) Nod your head if you agree...  After all, beliefs do not necessarily hold a reason or logic!

PS: Below is a small documentary from a South Indian channel, Janam TV especially produced to highlight the remarkable "North Indian festival of Karvachauth", featuring my best friend Neha Chawla Arora, her sister and my mentor Dr. Ruchi Chawla Batra, and other members from her family too. It is a pleasure to see that people through out India and across the globe are curious to know about the trends of this beautiful festival.


Just as the Valentine’s Day holds significance in the western culture, I strongly believe that KC holds almost the same importance in our Indian culture. This is the time to embrace the togetherness between two souls, to cherish each other’s presence in life, to come closer and strengthen our bond such that it flourishes forever till eternity! 

This is actually a day to create memories and renew the promise of unconditional love. For all you men out there... isn’t it wonderful to know the fact that someone loves you so dearly that they can even forbid eating food and stay hungry for you the entire day!

KC is as interesting a day as it is a tradition! Couples who are not challenged by geographical distance must try to spend time together. Rather than indulging in materialistic gifts and letting the time slip-off in not-so-required get-togethers, this is one special day to present each other the gift of love... in each other's arms, beholding tight, caressing, admiring each other for who they are, going lost into each other's eyes... away from the worldly clamour! 

It may tickle your funny bone but I admit to have discovered this effervescent experience this year only. Being away from our family in India certainly saddens us at such great events but then life is all about unfolding new experiences.

This year, Stockholm was the host to our KC celebration. To tell you the truth, my KC went out really simple this time. Though there were many reasons that made me upset but my sweetheart cheered me up throughout the day. He did not let me regret over the fact that I could not bring any fancy Indian attire. I even could not get an opportunity to apply henna in hands.

Embraced by much of the baby-like pampering, my mood was all set to perform the KC prayers. I did it only with the available basics, without bothering much about the inadequacy of “pooja samagree” (essentials while worshipping God). Internet became my rescuer for performing the entire KC ceremony as I dedicatedly listened to the KC katha over YouTube. Indeed I missed my dear mom-in-law!

Gratefully, Moon was generous enough to peep out of the cloudy sky almost on time, letting me see its glance, without awaiting much.

The best part was the scrumptious dinner - Tomato Cheese Pizza with the Salsa-Nachos Combo prepared by my hubby darling especially for Me! Gossshhhh.... I just went “Oooh Laa Laaa” over his love-stuffed-gesture... :)

Indeed, this year we missed the ostentatious delights, fancy-dressing, photo studio shoot, family get-together party and other fineries... but the most essential thing which graced our KC occasion was absolutely present there... “Moments of Love”!

Sometimes in rush of the hour, we often forget the essential things... There are two elements that carve out the beauty of Karva Chauth and suffice the tradition  – “Praying for each other's well-being” and needless to say “Valuing each other's love”! :)

I am the Breath... I Live Forever!


The weirdness of life sometimes signals our senses to hit the interlude button to get into the "self-introspection" mode. It is essential to perform this process again and again in order to cleanse the thought-process to nourish the mind and heart.

It's been almost two weeks being away from my people, my country and those whom I love the most and am missing so much... Truly saying, it is not easy, specially for someone for whom it's the first time! It is said that destiny makes you go destinations, and so am I trying to figure out the trajectory that God has set in this far away land.

The fact is...

In quest of managing life's mysteries and dealing with the "uneasy" times, I feel the need to strengthen up myself, boost up the fading courage and enlighten my intellect to face whatever comes up next! And in this process I realize that the real strength can only be gained through powerful positive thoughts about the self!  

Through this post, I wish to share the core truth, the crux of life that I have come to know over the years through many spiritual gurus. All direct to one great process - "Know Your Self"! 

A renowned saint says, Knowing the true self elevates one from all the miseries and open the doors to peace and divinity!

Though its been good years being familiar with the reality of life... Here's a result of my re-self-introspection... an alignment of my thoughts about self-realization, a composition about "Who Am I"...

I live forever!

I am not the eyes,
I am not the face,
I am not something one can chase,
